Gasoline Price Caps
Pursuant to Act 78, Session Laws of Hawaii 2006, which became effective on May 5, 2006, the Public Utilities Commission’s duties to calculate and publish the maximum pre-tax wholesale prices of gasoline (“gas price caps”) have been suspended indefinitely.
Below are the gas price caps that were in effect during the period between September 1, 2005 and May 14, 2006, when the gas price cap law was in effect. Those gas price caps applied only to wholesale transactions and not to retail sales of gasoline.
