Producer - Resident Individual
To qualify for a Resident Individual producer license, the applicant:
- Must be at least eighteen years of age;
- Any person who is engaged in the business of insurance or who is about to engage in the business of insurance in this State and who has been convicted of any felony shall request the commissioner's written consent to engage in the business of insurance as required in §431:2-201.3;
- Has not committed any act that is a ground for a licensure sanction set forth in §431:9A-112;
- Has paid the applicable fee; and
- Has successfully passed the applicable examination for each line of authority for which the applicant has applied.
A complete application for a Resident Individual producer license includes:
- FORM HPL
- one original;
- Original State of Hawaii Licensing Exam passing score report.

- Original Letter of Clearance, if applicant previously held any resident insurance license in any state or states other than Hawaii;
- Variable Annuities:
- Required to hold a Life Insurance License;
- Submit evidence of registration with NASD;
