The wallpaper image used on this web page is of Ahu`ena Heiau in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i Island, courtesy of the Hawai`i State Archives. Other wallpaper designs found throughout this site include a drawing of a petroglyph field from the Kona coast of Hawai`i Island, a lauhala (pandanus) mat, and a project site diagram. Unless otherwise identified, all remaining photographic images depicted in this web site are property of SHPD staff and/or the State of Hawai`i.

OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE

This site is best viewed on an IBM compatible at 640x480 with display set at 16-bit color or above. Adobe Acrobat Reader is necessary for viewing SHPD's many PDF files. A link for the download is provided if Acrobat Reader is not yet on your system. If you are using Internet Explorer and you are having difficulty downloading any of the PDF files, select the medium security level in your Internet Options folder to view PDF files and enable the "Active X controls and plug-ins so Acrobat Reader starts automatically. For Mac users, if your window remains blank after the download of a PDF is complete, click on "refresh." A word processing program is recommended for "cut-and-paste" options offered via Adobe Reader.
