The Hawaii and Pacific Section provides in-depth reference and readers' advisory services to a worldwide audience using a wide variety of resources: books, pamphlets, government documents, periodicals, maps, microforms, and electronic databases.

Special collections, publications and services:

• Bibliographies on ethnic groups, genealogy, history, and other special topics
• Hawaii Documents Center: In compliance with HRS 93-1 to 93-5, documents produced by government in Hawaii are obtained, distributed and made available to the public through the public libraries.
• Indexes and finding aids to a variety of resources, including government documents, major local newspapers, libraries, magazines, sheet music, pamphlets, legends, and yearbooks.
• Collection development, consultation, and training services for the branches of the Hawaii State Public Library System.
