Madge Tennent was born in Dulwich, England in 1889. At the age of 5 she went with her parents to South Africa; at age 12 attended the Cape Town School of Art and thus started her art career. In 1923 she and her husband made a stop on their way to England from Samoa. A few days developed into a permanent stay. Her professional life lasted almost half a century and today, she is represented in many gallaries throughout the world. |
