🌺 Do you know about the remarkable Korean women pioneers of Hawaiʻi? As a proud Korean woman in Hawaiʻi, I’m inspired by their stories, especially during Women’s History Month.Meet #HaSooWhang. In 1919, she immigrated to Honolulu and became the first Korean social worker in Hawaiʻi, dedicated to improving the lives of Korean immigrants. From assisting Korean women in setting up their homes to teaching English, she was a beacon of support for her community.Ha Soo Whang’s love for Korean traditional art had a rippling effect as she organized a Korean dance group to promote Korean music and dance in Hawai’i, helping to shape our state’s rich cultural landscape. #KoreanWomenInHawaii #WomenEmpowerment #WomenHistoryMonth

I always look forward to visiting Lincoln Elementary — not only because I attended the school but because the students and teachers always welcome me with smiles and open arms. It was an honor to join their Read Aloud and Career Day as part of #ReadAcrossAmerica 📚We read “Happy Dreamer” a book about dreaming big, and talked about the importance of reading and how it helps me in my job as Lieutenant Governor. Mahalo to the Lincoln Kolea birds!
